Hello,

I'm thinking of getting a puppy from this male, what is good and bad about these lines, and what you think of him from the picture.

Thank you

Is he titled?  He looks young in the picture.

What about the mother of the pup?  That is just as important if not more so.  Is she titled? hips/elbows ok?

very good bloodlines but in pic he is just a pet

I'm told the female is title sch 1, and he hs a BH and working to get his sch 1, he's 2 years old. The owner said she would update his pedigree and the female which is a canisphere dog. Both have OFA good. She only breeds 1-2 litter a year.

These are excellent bloodlines. Some of best cuurent showlines in the world. However, his confirmation is not typical for having such a great pedigee.

Good bloodlines, but does not look like breeding quality. I have a Canisphere female from Freiheit Westerholt lines. Here is a link to her pedigree: www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/478749.html

She is a very nice girl, however, her mother is not titled, unfortuately.

I think you should do a heck of a lot of research. Consider what you want him for, if its companion then id say buy one from a local breeder but if its competition or working you want than hes an excellent choice.

I agree about him not having the conformation for breeding, but he may also make a fun working dog for someone who isnt interested in breeding, who knows? I have to say his stack in that picture is terribly unflattering also.

Now, I like this dog! This is a topline that I'd like to see more often again! (Sorry, but not the fan of the roach back, constipated look that has taken to be in vogue for too long). Nice expression, good stance (not posed) and I like that. Gives a better pic of the true dog. Could use a bit more substance in the chest area but he could grow into that as he matures. Nice bone. Confident, no tail tucked in as I see in some. (It's such a confusing picture when you see a confident dog from the front to mid section, and a submissive back end.

Temperament...can he be the all purpose dog? Good in a family situation with kids and protective? Calls off easily? Trustworthy? That will be the true value of his worth.

Then again, I am old fashioned. I miss the the shepherd from old.
