I have alot of free time at night as I do reports on my computer. So I surf for GSD stuff.

I love Long hairs so I look for pics and differant colors .Last week I came across the site Forever German Shepherds

However she has listed a bitch for sale   http://www.forevergsds.com/Jana1.html I wanted to see

Imagine my surprize when a differant bitch shows up on the pic.

I would contact the owner and ask.

I'd have to say that a couple different things could have happend.  The first one being an honest mistake by the owner in posting the wrong picture by mistake (probably my guess as they can't expect no one notice the obvious that this is NOT remotely the same dog).  The other thing could be that someone (as shocking as this may come to you) purposely went in and posted another dogs picture just to be an ass.

You may want to email the owner to let them know since they probably have no knowledge of it themselves.  But with that being said I would never buy this bitch personally and not just because she is a long haired GSD but because of the descrption they give on the dog not being for the "average pet owner" and that the dog is animal aggressive.

If it's not suitable for the average pet owner, and it is not suitable for sport then what is it really good for??  Sounds to be like a BYB'ing to me.  I'd stay away from that one, there's a lot of nice dogs out there that will make fantastic pets with good nerves and stable temperments that will not drive the average pet owner to the first shelter to abandon a crazy dog.

Most people who have dogs on here are authentic.  Mistakes do sometimes happen and sometimes you even get one bad apple that will go around changing pedigree or pictures just to be a jerk but for the most part this isn't something we typically see.  If I had to guess which dog was the real dog I'd have to take a guess and say it was the one on the homepage.

The picture on the owner's website is the correct dog.  The owner's been in a couple of OB classes with me (I handle Basic training for my local all breed dog club) and I've met several of her dogs.  I don't know who post the wrong photo on her because the owner doesn't visit this site (the dog's breeder did post the pedigree  here when the dog was still a pup along with a puppy picture).  Someone must have changed it.  The pedigree is correct though.  It's just the photo that's not.

On a seperate note, the current owner isn't the breeder of the dog.  She purchased and imported the dog from someone else and had planned to use her in a future breeding program (didn't work out).

Proceed with caution.  The person who sold the dog to it's current owners  might not even be the breeder.  I would want DNA verification on imports these days.
