Since we're looking at x-rays again, here's a couple more.
This first x-ray is from a 31-month old male.
This second x-ray is from a 28-month old female
Let me know what you think and I'll let you know what the results were later.

Assuming both are GSD's, OFA excellent on first. The second is harder, left hip is not as good as the right. Best guess OFA fair or mild unilateral HD.
BTW nice xrays, that vet knew what he or she was doing.

Second one : looks like dysplastic also the pic is not clear and on the right looks like part of ball missing or rough might be just the cloudy pic ball is in the socket but left one is rough also unless its the poor picture,,,,,
first one: cannot say as the one looking at pic on right looks like it could have arthritis in it.... because its not clear....that would fail the xrays , If that is a shadow on first then ofa good

first one/male - passing, looks good to me - very nice structure and no problems that I can see. Second one/female - dysplastic. Heads are squared and uneven, flattening, remodeling, thickened femur necks, sockets also are not round. Not passing IMO.

I agree with Blitzen. The first, if not excellent will be good.

Me too. Let us know because I think I am finally starting to get the hang of reading these xrays (maybe). For me, these xray threads are the best because I am getting to see a ton of different xrays rather than just my own dogs. Seeing them, plus reading the critiques of so many knowledgable people is the only way I know to learn.
I hate going to the vets when they are pointing out stuff on xrays, I rarely "get" what they are trying to show me!

In my opinion the first is a "good" and the second "fair" or more likely less. It seems that we have some consensus on this. The dark spot on the right acetebelum of the second radiograph spells failure to me.
Hope they both pass!

I'm off to bed for the night. I'll post the results tomorrow which will give a few more a chance to do an evaluation.
Thanks for all the great input on these!
