As so many time the issues of training, breeding, and putting titles on ones dogs come up, I began to wonder.
what have all these people (i say that because i dont think i know anyone here personally) done in the past or present with their dogs? granted i do know some of you by namesake and reputation and your accomplishments are well documented and appreciated for you efforts toward bettering the breed.
my first schutzhund dog was a showline male, great pedigree, not much else. after traveling to a few clubs and seeing all the other dogs I bought a working line bitch. failed my first bh, and later passed. then i had a few changes in life and fell out of training for a while. my wonderful wife wanted me to get back into the sport, so she bought me a new puppy. she turned out to be the type of dog I was looking for all along (i just didnt know it). she is now V rated, schH 3, KKl 1, and just turned 3 years old in october.
I am still keeping up with Ally's training along with my male Dar- sg rated and bh, working on our schh1, Czoe- g-rating working on our bh-schh1, and a pup out of my breeding Bethany (aka Beta).
i guess the reason for bringing this up has to do with the number of times someone gets "called on the mat" for making a comment and then getting slaughtered for their input. maybe if we know more about each others accomplishments, some people wont be as quick to lash out at one another. i know, im a hopeless romantic, living in the wrong time.
what are your 2 cents?

Hi John,
I dont know why so many get so intense sometimes here. But the whole world could use a little more tolerance.
I think some people just dont have anywhere else to vent.
May we all be a little kinder, I hope.
Brent.

We could all use a little kindness, not enough of it here lately.

Well John,
I'm a mother with 8 children, that has just retired from working a 40 or more,
hour a week job for 22 years, since I'm no longer working & 5 kids moved away, I am
thrilled to have time with my dogs, as I used to try & train, breed & show dogs
well working my 40 hour a week job, and take care of kids!
PHEW! LIFE IS GOOD NOW!!!
I have gotten CD's on dogs, and CGC is a must, and also Temperament Certificates,
and tomorrow Theo and I go to the assisted
living center and cheer up the elderly, Theo has his CGC TDI, my daughter works there and she
said one lady who has real bad alzheimer's told her "I met your mom & Theo!" and that was the
next day, my daughter told me, this lady doesn't ever remember anything!
I feel very good inside!! Trust me when I say, nothing can bring me down

Mirasmom That is SO AWESOME !!! My daughter takes her dog into the Assisted living homes here, I go with of course, But just as an observer and driver.... It kills me to have to leave, They sure seem to enjoy the time and company of the dog, My daughter trained Shadow "Kisses" and that dog will kiss wherever she points to, a hand an arm whatever... It's pretty neat. But I do hate leaving them there, seems like your abandoning them or something, I don't know can't explain it, but it's really tough for me emotionally when we have to leave...

I have 3 GSD's and a mix breed also. I use to take my white GSD to obedience trials. She does have 1 leg in trials, but we haven't continued because she is very hyper and embarrassing at shows, lol. 3 out of our 4 dogs have their CGC's. I don't plan on trying with my 7 year old black and tan girl because she is too skitish. Have no idea why! Chaos is my only male and he is my only show dog. He has achieved his championship and we are now going for his grand championship. He is also my only long coat. And from this experience I can say that I will most likely from now on only own long coats! They are more affectionate and LOVE people. He is one heck of a dog!

John- This is exactly why people don't share what they are doing with their dogs except with their own private circle. I can respect that since it's no one's business to judge what you are doing with your dog, who you are doing it with, if it's enough, if it's at a club, if it's on the roof. So many times I see people getting jerked off by someone, usually a no name person that pops up and wants to start some crap just cause they can and are stupid and really not I or anyone else needs to justify why we do what we do with our dogs, how often we do it, or who we do it with.
No disrespect but my response from now on is "my dog works and so do I." Those that know me know what I enjoy doing with my dogs and those are the only people I care to share my business with because there are too many crack pots on here that I have no use for.
No matter what you say you are doing with your dog and regardless of how spectacular of a dog it may be there will always be someone who gets on here to cut you down to size. The irony of it all is that typically the people who like to start the crap can't make it stick cause they themselves are certainly not on a national level or world level so really who are they to judge anyone??? My theory is don't worry about me, worry about you and what you do with your dogs. The people who are accomplished and know they got a good thing going on don't typically go around tootin' their own horn. The one's who have some sort of complex are usually the one's looking to pick someone else apart to try to make themselves look better. Kinda childish really but that's what I gathered thus far.
Glad to see you are working hard with your dog. And yes I like showlines despite I own 3 wonderful working lines; the show lines still steal my heart.

I've only participated in AKC events since 1970 and I doubt anyone would be interested in reading about any of them .
