I HAVE A FEMALE GSD IN HEAT. SHE HAS ALLOWED MY MALE GSD TO BREED. MY PROBLEM IS I'M WORRIED, SHE IS STILL BLEEDING THREE DAYS AFTER THE INITIAL BREEDING. IS THIS BLEEDING NORMAL OR SHOULD I BE WORRIED ABOUT THE FEMALE?

What did she do to allow your male to breed? Did she open her kennel and then open his?
Let me guess, your female is 7 months old, right?

I have had females breed for the entire season even after being bred. Unless the bleeding is excessive I would not worry about it. It is also possible that she bred a bit early so the bleeding had not eased up yet.

Oops, didn't read before I posted that. I meant to type BLEED for the entire season not breed. LOL

NO DON, THE FEMALE IS ACTUALLY 6 MONTH OLD. But I read her horoscope and it said she had good hips. So I left it up to the planets to decide

Aye! some GSD lassys have a heavy blood flow throughout t' estrus period. As long as t' blood stops after she comes out thar be no worries Arrrrr

I hope this is a joke... a six or a 7 month old - that would be utterly irresponsible. you better clear that up

I'm glad I'm not the only one with a wicked sense of humor around here.
