I have a bunch of video files in this format, all huge, (100-200 MB) on my hard disc video camera, and haven't been able to anything other than play them with Windows Media Player on my own computer. Can't post them, can't send them in e-mails, can't do MUCH with them! The files transfer in mpeg format (???) Any assistance greatly appreciated. I'm have stepped 'way out of my computer savvy envelope, about ready to throw this camera in the trash and get something else, and it WASN'T cheap! I've had the damned thing for nearly two years and this is as far as I"ve gotten with it??? ARGH!
Thanks in advance,
SS

NERO has software that can change the format to WMV or AVI files which will compress them to a smaller file were they can be viewed online with quicker download times (hence you lose some resolution)
I think you can use Windows Movie Maker as well with the MPG or MPEG format and change it to a WMV or AVI file. WMV files much more user friendly and quicker to play.

Thanks. Windows movie maker will not recognize the file format, IF I am doing it right, that is. I guess I am going to have to invest in more software. I don't even have a zip program.

Oh I thought you meant it was in MPEG or MPG format already. Is it a .VOB file? If so you will have to use NERO or Ulead Movie Maker has a nice conversion program. You can download the trial version on Ulead's site. It is compatible with other file formats too
