Shepherd Woman

by Shepherd Woman on 10 November 2007 - 01:11

I have 2 pictures here.  One is of Chaos at 6 months old at Christmastime, and the other just recently at 17 months old.  I have noticed that his face even around his eyes etc. is becoming more black.  And he is red, but not as red as what he was.  How much more do you think his color is going to change.  He also has this black streak on his chest, going down.  That is also new.  What do you think?  Damnnnn he's cute, LOL.  JMO!

I personally have never seen a dog that is light get darker except sables.

me neither - in my experience the black/reds or black/tans lose some of their black, not gain - but darker is great!  I love the  black mask over the foreheads - very handsome.  Good looking dog!

It's weird how I look at him every single day and just noticed recently that he now has a almost completely black face!  It really hit me in the head when I looked at his newest picture that I posted.  I thought, WOW.  Looked at him and then at the picture.  Yep he's getting darker, lol.

Shepherd Woman,
I feel better now, I thought I was the only one that loved to stare at my dogs all day,
Isn't the GSD a work of art!

I was noticing in the colorful picture you had taken of Chaos, he looks like he was painted in!

My daughter's boyfriend hadn't seen my Theo for awhile, and he noticed how dark Theo had got,
Theo is 2  and I think he'll be even darker at 4, some of my girls are getting markings where it was
solid black, it's so cool to watch the transformation!

Enjoy your handsome guy, does he have a nickname?

My pup is 11 months now (showlines) and she seems to be getting redder every day! She's lost some of her black mask and saddle, though.

It's interesting to see the colour changes as they mature. There's a saying in the horse world: NEVER name a horse for its colour before its first birthday!

Chaos's nicknames are KK and Buddy Boo, lol.  I have no idea where I came up with that, but it just stuck one day, LOL.  The Christmas picture of him was surely not painted.  That was the 5th or 6th shot we took.  I will find the disk and post the other shots.  One is funny as hell, lol.  The photographer had him sitting up.  His you know what was sticking out!  She was like OH noooo, we can't have his winky sticking out in the picture.  So she put something in front of it, LOL.  I'll post that picture.  Let me find them and I'll be back, lol.  You will love it!  Thanks for the comments all.

Ok, here's some more of his Christmas pictures.  As you can see in the one, he had had a longgggg day and just wanted to go to sleep, LOL.  Poor guy.  The one of his sitting up is quite amusing!  It does have it's story behind it as I said in the last post though!  People couldn't believe it as they were sitting there watching, just how calm he was during the whole thing up on that table.  He is quite a dog!  Enjoy the pictures......
