What is better to use, a whelping box or kiddie pool or anything better for breeding/puppies?

Unless you wish to risk having the bitch lie on the pups (and accidentally kill or injure them), do not use a kiddie pool. Use a sturdy whelping box and make sure to have one with "pig rails" to protect the pups.

Hi Waleed,
Louise is absolutely right, the pig rails protect the pups from being
laid on and sqwished by their mom, they are a piece of wood that is
attached to all sides of the pen about 5 or 6 inches from the bottom,
and they stick out about 6 inches, so when mom lays against the wall
and a pup is behind her the pupwill just roll under the pig rail, pretty neat
invention!
Here's a pic of my puppy pen

They are so much fun to play with right now!!!
I was surprised to see ears up so early, and
the pups are extra smart, I can sit & tell them
a bedtime story, & their heads till side to side,
and then they just crack me up!!!!!!
I'm going to miss the little bugger's!!

They are sooooo adorable. I'm going to start making my next box, but have one question. what are the measurments for the pig rails? How far up from the bottom should they be?
