I'll spare y'all the questions since I only have a thousand of them
But I was wondering what videos and books are the best for learning how to teach a dog to do Schutzhund tracking? Is the Leerburg video any good?
I haven't put alot of consistency into tracking until the last couple of months and I'm hitting some ruts myself (no pun intended)...and I have a general idea of how this should go and some simple troubleshooting, but I'm not 100% on how to tell when its ok to progress on certain aspects (less food, more difficult terrain, etc). Some videos are pricey and I just don't want to go ordering a bunch of stuff willy-nilly.

I have the Leerburg tracking video and, honestly, is is VERY SLOW, and not terribly informative. On the other hand, after having tracked a few dogs and read a few books, I still learned a few things from it, I think.

I agree with Blueshep. Prestons' site is the best: http://www.schutzhundtracking.com/

I'll go back to that site again....last time I looked, everything I really needed to see wasn't completed. I was so bummed. LOL, who has time to finish websites when they're working dogs though? And that is a ton of info to try to compile...I don't envy you a bit on doing all of that work, but very gracious in putting so much effort into it. I do love the videos, I haven't seen anywhere else that posts tracking videos.
Hey Preston, I could muster up some good videos so you can create a gallery of "what not to do" :-)

Ohhh, yes, I could SO do that, too!!
Like last week, at the end of the track, when I threw the 'article' (a toy) for my dog to play with...
only to find the tracking leash was wrapped around my ankles!
Great website, Preston!
