Just a little brag for my sable girl who took VP1 yesterday under SV Judge/Kormeister Franz-Peter Knaul in the 9-12 month female class.  Working lines can win in the showring!

VP1, UKC CH Cashmere vom Boeselager CGC, HIC

Congratulations, a very beautiful girl. I think you can afford to take a BIG brag for this one. Thumbs up to the judge too, hope maybe the winds of change are blowing..........

Congrats, Granville, she's a very good looking youngster; kudos also to the breeder for her part in the production of such a nice pup.  I'm betting your girl had a distinct advantage over most working line dogs that go into the conformation ring, in that you've done the necessary work to ring-train her for that venue, and you know what a judge expects to be presented with in the breed ring: a clean, groomed, well-behaved dog that has been prepared for the day.

IMO, most working line dogs are tossed into the breed ring with little advance prep--sometimes the dogs haven't even been bathed or groomed out--because the show rating is just a necessity as a precursor to the breed survey later on...but if more of the working line dogs were properly presented in the conformation ring, I think a lot more of them would place over show line dogs that weren't as well structured.

Congratulations on your lovely girl's excellent placement. Kudos to you for doing your homework and buying a dog from a breeder who cares enough to do health checks including DNA for DM.

PS: I really like that you are doing so many different things with your dog - UKC Ch, CGC, herding, SV style shows.............
