I have 1 male shepherd 3yrs old 1 female shepherd 2 yrs old and a yorkie 6 yrs old.
The yorkie was always dominant over the others but now the tables have turned and the male shepherd is fighting with him. I had to seperate them completely as he was almost killed. Any advice ?

Yes they must now be kept away from each other or this could end in a really bad way. When I got my male pup at almost 5 months old he and my 4yr old male who's his daddy were getting along just fine. I never would have guessed these 2 would soon be battling over top dog status since I figured it was already understood that the pup was not gonna be "top dog". Many folks told me having 2 intact males is gonna be a problem and I didn't want to believe it since the 2 were getting along fine and I figured since the pup was gonna grow up with his daddy he'd get used to the program. Well needless to say I'm glad I got the kennels up because now the pup is almost 8 months old and his old man is definately losing his patience with the little guy not being so little anymore. He no longer lets him get one in, he no longer is having any parts of the pup trying to bully him over a water bowl or toy. He's still clearly the larger more powerful dog so it takes little effort to put the pup in his place with just a paw upside the head but the pup now is either very stupid or very dominant because he comes back for more even though he just got his butt kicked. It didn't get better when I added a bitch to the mix either as the pup has even tried her patience through the kennel fence.
The only solution to your problem is to kennel the GSD and keep him away from the yorkie if you want to continue to have them both in your home safely. If keeping them seperate is not an option then I would suggest you make a hard decission on who will stay and who will go cause it's not gonna get better from this point on. They clearly do not like each other and it's that little dog syndrome that's not gonna work for your GSD.

I have raised 5 cocker spaniels and 8 plus german shepherds on the same premises for 25 years...You have to have the rules and cockers never even get near the germans...they go to their kennels if the germans come inside and when the cockers go outside all germans are up and secure....Courtyard for the cockers and the rest of acreage for germans...never do I let certain germans out at the time the cockers are in the courtyard, because they can jump the fence....
I travel with them all in the cages and the two have never mixed.....I have to be very diligent to make sure doors are locked and the kennels are always bungied or securely in tact....
only once when my first female was a baby and the cocker female mom was a baby ,,they played together and when pepsii was a pup , she played with one of the male cockers.....After they get a certain age of 6 months old...the play period ended....cockers are very quick to start a fight because they growl first..and they are very territorial and a shepherd can do away with one of the cockers in a swift 2 minutes...
Y ou have to get a plan and stick by it....no two mix...or dead yorkie.
