Help with Mating Please Advice Needed - Page 1

Dear Friends

I have a young 16 months male and a female (4 yrs no litter yet) on heat but I don’t know the days. She is allowing him to mount her, he is also trying but stops after 20-30 sec as he cannot get it in maybe.

Do I need to take the help of a professional to help him or should I leave it o nature to take its time.

Should I keep them separate for a few hours and then allow the to do it.

Should I give the male some medicines or I don’t know what to so please help with your advice.

DUCK and RUN from here and get a new screen name cause this bunch of Sharks is going to eat you...  My hope is that your male has a stamp from Germany,  I know they do them younger than here in the states...  Good Luck with the sharks...

See if he can do it himself, first of all. But, if worse comes to worse, you may need to help him out. When my family bred pitbulls, we had one male who would mount but always stopped after a very short amount of time. You may perhaps need to hold your female still and, not forcefully, hold the male ontop. It's not very attractive work, but it could help!

after the 9=13 day nothing happens, take them both to the vet in your town who does   AI, and the job is done....he will probably do fine   leave him in the  pen for 4-6 hours and take him out for a couple of hours...and back on for several hours...put her up for the night  .put her back for several hours and leave them alone...make sure no collars or a dog house she can get intoo    put in a kennel with a water bucket and that is all...turn dog house where they cannot get into.......she will either eat him alive or let him breed her...she will handle him  and tease him....she is quite a bit older so she may be bossy.....that is why   AI for this litter may be better...than her tearing him up  your vet can tell you with a simple test if she is ready and he will  AI skip a day  Ai and then do a third.....very simple and then you know for sure...she will be bred.....because of age difference  that is what u may have to do...just leave them be and dont worry but keep an eye in case she gets very nasty with him....after several days of this  then go to the vet and get it done...

my guess is your dog is not yet ready.  otherwise at this age the dog mounts like a rocket.  may be he is too heavy or too much excited and feels tired after futile shots.  leave them for a couple of hours and let the mother nature do the rest.

My female has the same problem. Some people told me to insert his penis intoher manually which did not work for me but I think it could if you hold them together until his penis swells to the point where it won't come out. I was told to put her higher up or lower depending on the height difference( dig a hole and put her back legs in it, ot his back legs in it). Someone else said to use vasline. I am tired of messing around though so I may try natural once more and then AI but only one vet here does AI and I do not like her that much so I will do the best thing I thought of, use a male with lots of experience. I read that when you breed hamsters one of the mates should always be exprienced or they kill each other. I do not think its that serious, but I may have to use  a seasoned dog the first time and my dream dog the second.
