The Costco Kirkland Chicken based kibble has some glucosamine/chondroitin.

Their "Mature" formula has more still.

I think there is a good chance that chicken meal has natural glu/chon in the joints of chicken.

My doctor said to not waste the cartliege and edible joint materials in chicken.

In this way of thinking, I think a chicken meal based food, rather than lamb or beef meal based,  is better for older dogs.

Some chicken meal is from the parts of the breast that have most of the breast meat removed. Personally, I never buy boneless chicken breast. I always buy chicken breast with rib attached (much cheaper also) so me and my dogs can share the soft edible joint tissues.
