Jeffrey, I sure do appreciate your kindness. I'm afraid I am much more like the Mr. Know it All that Bullwinkle the Moose portrayed on the Rocky and Bullwinkle show.

Even as a small boy, I was crazy over dogs. It didn't matter what dog or what type. I wanted them all. I lived by a nice man by the name of George Royce. Mr. Royce had a yardfull of dogs. I was over there every day. He would let me feed, play, clean up after, and even walk his dogs. At the time I didn't realize that he was a well known dogman regarding the Pitbull breed.

This was the late 50's and early 60's, and hardly anyone even knew what a Pitbull was. The public had no opinion or knowledge of the breed.

Mr. Royce was known for his dish faced, red nosed Wallace dogs. George knew Bob Wallace very well and had the best of the Wallace dogs. At that time there was another young man interested in the Wallace dogs as well. He had done a breeding with George and his Wallace dogs. This young man's name was Dick Stratton.

Richard Stratton went on to write books on the breed, and is known as an expert and an author.  I went on to post once in a while on certain message boards, and usually get accused of being a dogfighter. In any case I'm knowledgabe about the APBT because I was around and knew, and stiil know who's left of the old time dogmen. Regarding the APBT, I have seen it all.  I've seen the breed come to ruin before my eyes.

This is a GSD board, and I guess Pitbulls shouldn't even be mentioned, but when I got into GSD's, the transition was easy as I knew the importance of a ped, and how to read one. Below is one of Royce's old Wallace dogs from the late 50's.

I looked at the site some also.  I liked the fact they were using the dog to work for real, out hunting hogs.  Good for them, give the dog a real tough job it was bred to do.

Abhay

your humility and knowledge is only second to the good looks of the picture you posted of yourself above.

I look forward to reading more of your posts in other treads to come.

Have a Great Day !

Jeffrey
