Herding dogs are working dogs too! How come nobody ever seems to discuss herding on here? I would love to see some pics of your herding dogs working! Are there not many herding people on here? I'm still somewhat new so maybe I've missed some things.

NOW you're talkin!! I'm fairly new to herding myself and so far have only dabbled in AKC course A. That is all that is available to practice with in my area. But we love it. Anja and I earned our PT on Labor Day and one leg towards our AHBA Junior Herding Dog 2 weeks later. Here are a few shots of us "working" herding fools!!

OOPS! Sorry I got those pics side by side. I know how to do it the other way and forgot to do it that way today!!
Rozoan, who needs more practice posting pics, obviously!!

I've always thought that herding looked like a blast to get into but I don't know if anyone does it in Michigan. I'm always joking about getting my dogs a couple of goats or sheep just to keep them from bothering me constantly.

RoZoAn,
Nice pics! What region you located in? My male will hopefully get started soon. I was just trying to give him away a couple days ago, but I've reinforced everything so I can keep him confined! There is a "herding lady" fairly close to me that offers classes. I'm excited about getting started, but he needs his obediance fine tuned first!

I am doing a herding instinct test tomorrow with 2 of my girls...I will try to get some decent pics and will post them!

You should live with about 80 sheep right behind your house and you wouldn't have to do an instinct test! lol

Mine herd the cats. Does that count as an instinct test?
