Don't know if anyone else was having the same problem but the OP was split on my screen.
This is why I never chip my animals. Besides the fact that Big Brother doesn't need to know
where my dogs are 24/7, they're with me,,,,,MYOFB.

You beat me to it.
This is information we all need to read and be aware of. some of the owners stories on chipmenot.org is interesting reading too.
Since it was posted on line last October 2010, I wonder how the law suit is progressing. I didn't see more info on that. It may be there and I just missed it somehow.

Every year they continued to check the growth that now turned into a tumor by age 4 years old. I had the tumor removed & inside it was his micro-chip, that must have migrated from his shoulder blade area right after injection.
Even after the chip has been removed he continues to get tumors in the area & now along his shoulder blade area his skin has turned black. At age 8 years old he has cancer through out his body.
We've been heart broken over our big fuzzy bear's diagnosis. Many breeders in the USA micro-chip their Leonbergers, & now the breed has a above average cancer risk, they used to be the healthiest large breed.
I never thought it could be from the micro-chip, but our vaccines here in the USA-??? Either way very sad. We use to micro-chip our puppies until this happen, & now have stop.

I have had 2 of my dogs implants quit working. Had different vets scan for it and they can't find it. I know a lot of the earlier chips did migrate to various areas of the body so we scanned everywhere and can't be read. Several of my dogs have been implanted, but decided not to implant anymore.
They are usually around 2 yrs old when microchipped. One female developed a tiny growth In the shoulder area which we removed, but the chip was not in it.
YR. I was trying to post it and the page was acting crazy and then yours appeared. this time it seems to be working.
CPhudson, I am sure sorry to hear about the tumors in your dog. So sad....

Something else to think about:
Where is the most common injection site for repeated vaccines with adjuvants KNOWN to cause certain sarcomas (especially in cats, like the suit mentions)? Yep; you guessed it! It's right in the same spot as a microchip is typically implanted.

Very timely question as there's an event next weekend offering chipping by a Vet for no cost... just the cost to register the chip by the owner at a later date. I was thinking of having my 2 younger dogs done, now will have to rethink it.
