Hate to say the "D" word, but this hip appears dysplastic. It is hard to acertain 100% from this dark photograph but there appears to be insufficient pelvic coverage over the acetebelum of each tibia, especially that of the right side.

I could be wrong and let's hope I am.

Regards,

Bob-O

From what little I know thus far about this stuff, I would say Moderate HD.  It would help if the knees were in the pic to ascertain if the positioning was decent.  The knees caps being towards the inside instead of towards the outside, seems to make a big difference in the hip area.

My guess is that this x-ray was taekn under sedation.

Moderate to severe HD depending on the age of the dog at time of the xray.

I like looking at the x-rays, I can see exactly what you're talking about and I've learned from every one that's been posted.  Before I would've just said "Yep, looks like an x-ray to me!"

dog is dysplastic :(  left hip has  bone changes and is subluxed . first xray I would not purchase the dog on that xray   again I see changes in the femur , this x ray however is so dark its hard to tell   it appears that there is already some thickening but again xray is to dark .

Blitzen, please pardon my ignorance, but will you please explain what you mean by, "depending on the age of the dog at time of the xray." why does age of the dog make a difference?

Thank you in advance
