I have actually 2 litters that will turn 4 weeks old tomorrow,
and for a few days there was a girl sable pup that I saw vomit,
just once, but then lose her appetite, so I had been giving her nutrition
with a syringe, just liquids in her mouth.
Then I was going to go to the vets with her, but I remembered
years back, Pepto-Bismol had saved my lab that had the doggie flu.
That stuff is incredible!
So I said it can't hurt, I gave puppy, (I nick named her grim--)
a teaspoon and a half, and she took a nap, and awoke, ravinous
happy, full of energy, mind you she wouldn't even nurse, the power
of Pepto!
She's the pup on the top left in the middle, digging in! I'm so happy, just thought I'd share!

Any idea "why" it worked?

I can only guess that it calms the stomach and soothes it
to the point that nausea goes away, probably coats it.
Therefore bringing back ones appetite!
I heard that they give it to horses also!

kmaot,
I was reading your post on BH,
I want to do that with my dogs,
The first time I got a Companion Dog, with a Labrador Retriever I had
I was so nervous I couldn't even make myself smile for the picture.
Then I got another CD, with my Shepherd, and it was way more fun,
I always go to the shows telling myself that I already have passed
and that I am just putting on a demo for the people watching, it goes
way more smoother!!!
