my female pup had a similar coat when she around 3 months. She turned out to be jet black and red after shedding.

There is a glare on the back of the dog because you can see pinkish tones on the background....Some blacks and reds or tans havae a slight brownish tint sometimes and are not quite as black on the saddle... What color does he have it advertised as?

Look at the mans fingers and his nails they have a pinkish tint and so does everything in that pictures....there is a light problem with this picture.

My first thought was liver...but pup may be about to shed...be interesting to see a 6 month later picture & compare. jo

Its just like this picture on our base grey working line pups but the light they used in the box is an infra red lamp and in the digital film it turns the coats of the dogs brown hue and you can see it on the white,,,' On sueincs pic the same phase is done you can see a pink hue on his arms , his fingers and that is what is turning the pups coat w brownish liver color.....
