It looks like my department is finally going to let me do explosive detection with my dog. Explosive detection is the only area I have never done. I need to find a trainer (preferably in California or on the west coast) that will train with live ordinance and is California POST certified.
Anyone out there have any references? I need to put together a proposal ASAP.
Thanks

Have you checked with ATF? They should be able to point you in the right direction. Good Luck.

I think John Badillo used to train puppies for explosive and drug K9s. He trains through the South County Club in San Jose, if you would like me to try to track him down send me a private email luvjakers@yahoo.com

GARD, take a look here www.worldwidecanine.com and www.Detectordog.com your Agency may want to purchase one already trained and certified for explosive detection. In my general area the County has purchased an explosive detection K9 at a cost of $57K. That team services about 24 Depts. within the Countywide area, he goes to all Townships and PDs. good luck VB
