Anyone got any comments on Mutz?  Know of any dogs line bred on Mutz?

Just curious for your .02

No one knows anything about Mutz?

Vickie,

I don't know anything about Mutz, other than what you can find here on the PDB, which is a lot:

1) There are no dogs linebred on him listed (if you go to his page and click on "Reverse Linebreeding", they would be listed there)

2) He has only produced a few litters and none of the dogs stick out. You could however, continue to check what his registered sons and daughters have produced. Can be tedious but you might find something.

3) Lindesfarne kennel had a litter by him. So, you could ask them how their puppies turned out. I am sure that they would be helpful

Regards, Chris

Chris,

Thanks.  I have a Mutz son and was thinking about the future.

Hi Vickie,

you were mentioning a possible linebreeding on Mutz. I don't know what he produces and passes on, but in my opinion I would not think about linebreeding that soon. You would have him once in the 2nd generation. Whiles this is permitted, it is not advisable unless he would be a top producer. And he has just not been used enough to establish that! I would look into the third or fourth generation of your male. Are there any worthwhile producers to linebreed on? If not, I would match him up with a nice and closely linebred female (of a top producing dog) - since you would be doing an outcross - who offers improvements where you want them to. I know, it sounds easy, but it is not! We all would have only nice litters.

Regards, Chris

Well, like I said I was thinking about the future!  Not the immediate future but maybe a couple of generations from now....that is if I get any thing or keep anything from him.

Darko is a Mutz son and a Lord Gleisdreich grandson.  So, I was really wondering if anyone had done any linebreeding Mutz or Macho for that matter!

Anyone out there done it before on Macho even?

Randy Tyson-Witmer has a Mutz son that she has bred many times both in the US and in Germany.  You may want to contact her to get more info on breeding this bloodline.  Calimero MaKeRa...   http://www.witmertysonimports.com/Studdogs_1101.htm

No linebreedings recorded on Macho, either.

Again, all you have to do is click on "reverse linebreeding".

This does not mean that it was never done, but if it was, nothing of note came out of it. Otherwise,  these dogs would be registered here.

So, Calimero is with Randy in CA? I did not know that. When I looked for Mutz offspring, he caught me eye immediately. But when you live on the East Coast, CA is far away. I might as well go to Germany directly.

As mentioned before, the Scarberrys had a litter by Mutz. Maybe, they kept something and used it in their program. You can contact them here: www.germandogs.com/lindesfarne.htm

Thanks Klatolklin.  I will look at the link.  I am anxiously waiting for a litter from Darko.  Bred him about 3 weeks ago, so we will see what i get!  I just don't know that much about Mutz but I like the Mutz son I have.  I like him but don't want to be kennel blind also.....that is why I asked.  I just want to lear more!  What Mutz's drives are like and what his size is and what his agression is ........yada yada yada!  Ya know, that kind of stuff!

Chris.....I know about the reverse lookup!  Thanks, I tried that on Macho also before you had suggested it, that is why I asked the board!  I will look at the kennel you suggested also.

I have a Macho son who just turned 11.  Awesome dog.  Several times Sch 3 and yet a great dog.  Marked 282 with him and it was my first schutzhund dog.  Awesome launch and bite work.  Very clear headed dog.  I know Macho was one of the most bred dogs in Germany in the mid to late 90's.
