Brittany

by Brittany on 09 October 2007 - 11:10

Something bizarre just happen this morning and right now I still have a puzzle look on my face.

I was observing the weather around 4AM and the house lights were off at the time. I had my door open for a brief moment and some how my Jake went outside without my prior knowledge during that brief moment.. Jake has never done this before (funny huh??). I shut the door and lock it as always. I decided to go back to what I was doing on the computer and about 2 hours later.. I heard a dog barking from outside. I never came to the conclusion that it was my dog that was doing the barking! Zambi heard the bark and started barking herself. Zambi started coming to my room, trying to tell me something, at first I ignored her but she kept on coming to my room trying to get my attention. I stop what I was doing to see what was all the commotion about. I called out for Jake (since hes my untitled protection dog) and he never responded back, I was inside the house at the time. I called Jake again but no response. I started thinking to myself, “It couldn't be possible that Jake is outside!” I started having some doubts, however I did open the front door to see what was going on.. I called out for Jake again (To challenge my doubts) and what do you know? Jake comes walking torwards the porch and into the house! I was so shock to see that Jake was outside ALL this time! I was even more shock to see how Jake did not run away from the house, he had a great opportunely to do it too.

I'm so thankful that I actually have a PROVEN relationship with my dog. Hes my TRUE best friend. He will always be on my side, no matter what circumstances are.

I love you so much Jake!

I'll probably never have a great dog like son like you!

PS Sorry for the lipstick footage.. I still don't know how edit these pictures! maybe the photoshop wizards in here could give me the basic simple steps of  teaching me how to remove the lipstick?

Brittany, you gotta downsize your photos in the downsize part of the screen - eg - 215 by 250 before you add them into your thread.  I have a guy who knows how to open the storm door and let himself out hes pulled it on me several times like when Im in the shower and I have to go look for him. Now I make sure I keep the doors closed.  VB

My young fella can open the screen door from both sides.  What is funny is that he will hold the door open so the old guy can accompany him either in or out.

Not the greatest pics, but this is him in action.  The inside door handle is no longer there.  He snapped it off when I locked the dogs in the house so I could do some chainsaw work in the yard, only to find them outside within ten minutes.  I haven't bothered to replace it, since I figure he'll just take the next one off too - so now he doesn't have to bother turning the outside knob first when he wants to come in.

Hey p59, that's pretty good. Wish Trigger could figure out how to let himself back in. He's pretty good at getting out. Usually he's made it to the back of the yard already before I hear the door slam. (Have a fenced in yard so don't have to worry about either of the dogs taking off.) The old guy Murphy can let himself out also but isn't as fast as he used to be as the screen door usually bangs him in the head before he makes it through.

Brittany, Love your dog! I needed a good story followed by a good laugh this morning ! (he's ready for action too!)  Glad he's all you hope for in a dog - that says it all!!!
