Can someone explain please the registration process for a puppy bred in Germany? Do the German SV complete checks? Does a puppy have "pink papers"?
Sorry I am new to this breed.

Fluffyfeet, what exactly do you mean by "do the German SV complete checks"?
In Germany, a puppy will have pink papers if the parents and grandparents have been titled and breed surveyed. Otherwise, no. If one of the parents or grandparents do not show a breed survey, the papers issued would only be white (though, I don't know why they are called white, since they are light green).
As to the SV "checking", they have a breed warden system. The BW visits a litter within the first 10 days, because a breeder is obligated to report the mating and the following birth. A BW will certify that a litter is raised in sanitary conditions and that the puppies all appear healthy. The BW (along with the tattooer) will sign the litter application which is sent to the SV, after the puppies are tattooed.
The pink papers are all sent to the breeder who has to check them and certify on page one that all the information (pedigree and litter info on page one) is true. He then fills out the ownership change on page 4 and sends these pink papers out to the individual owners. According to regulations, these papers have to accompany the dog for its entire life, whereever he is sold or given to, and upon its death, have to be returned to the breed book office. In theory that means that nobody can withhold papers for any reasons.
