Remember; spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not

going to be around forever.

Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because

that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.

Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the

only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent.

Remember, to say, 'I love you' to your partner and your loved ones, but

most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes

from deep inside of you.

Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person

will not be there again.

Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the

precious thoughts in your mind.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:

Life is not measured b y the number of breaths we take, but by the

moments that take our breath away.

Hi UglyDog,

thanks for posting, it made me rethink a couple of things. Sometimes, easy & obviuos things get lost in daily life & its good that we get a little reminder every now & then.

So true, I lost my Father and wish that I had spent more time with him, also should have picked his brain for more of an education. There is something to be said for "old timers" and their knowledge. Now it is funny, I watch my kids and try to explain things and priorities, they are just like thier Mother.

Points well taken; little things really do  mean a lot.

Awe, Uglydog, ............give me a hug old buddy.

by Uglydog on 05 October 2007 - 16:10

DRFN....OK, 1 big collective group hug, right here on the old database.

See, Im not such a bad guy.  Actually Im a huge fan of George Carlin & was surprised to see such sentimental wisdom from him. Everything he says is true, we all too often forget it though or take it for granted.  The best things in life are free and are so often overlooked...a babies laughter, a kiss from a loved one, or just a smile.

And here I opened this thread excpecting one of George's infamous rants, full of four-letter words...

You sure suprised me, Uglydog, and by the time I finished reading it, I was in tears.

I lost my husband to cancer approximately 3 years ago, and not a day goes by that I don't miss him. But, we rarely passed up a chance to hug or say 'I love you' , especially during those last 11 months from H*E*L*L, and for that, I am grateful.

It's a lonely old world now.... {{{{{{HUG}}}}}

Nice, but not George Carlin.

http://www.vikarsrant.net/Rants/CarlinWordsOfWisdom.htm

Just start by looking up "moments that take our breath away" on Google, along with "attribution" or "attributed".

And read Carlin's blog (referenced here).
