Well, friends, I am laid up with a torn rotator cuff, possibly for as long as 6 months after sugery, which I will have Monday. I can't train, or even walk my dogs during this time.(sigh) So, while their education is on hold, I hope to use my down time to learn more about pedigrees, schutzhund, and our breed. With that in mind, and purely hypothetically...who would you breed my boy, Beckett vom Frauengarten, to; and why??? What qualities would you seek to improve, and what pedigrees would you feel would compliment his??? Now this is assuming hips & elbows are good, and that he obtains a title....Shelley, I'd especially value your input here! (as you know my guys strenths & weakness' in detail) I'm trying to learn about different lines here, not plan a future breeding...so no sales pitches...(or flaming, I'm in enough pain already!)OK?? Thanks a million, All!!! jackie osborne - Beckett vom Frauengarten http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/490999.html

Actually Jackie, we DON'T know Beckett's strengths and weakenesses very well yet, but throw him the car and drive over here during your reuperation period and we'll try to find out! :)
I would like to see another line to Marc Herkulesblick, and maybe some Nick Heilenbusch, Drigon Fuhrmanshof (through Uwe Kirschental, and/or a line to Asko Lutter, perhaps through Quincy Waldwinkel, which also give us the line to Uwe. I already mentioned Metin Stadtfeld. I would avoid anymore lines to Xento Maineiche as his progeny are still producing sharpness 4 generations down the line. Another line to Cliff Mohnequelle wouldn't hurt my feelings either, or a second line to Gildo Korbelbach, although hips might be a concern if it was closer than 5,5. Ulk and Umsa produced mosre than their fair share of them... A line to Brix Kapwald to Brix Kapwald might be nice...
Of course there's plenty of dogs around to bring a linebreeding on Fero... which would bring hardness, but also a couple of other issues I care to avoid, especially with a third line to Fero.
I would (and do) avoid Anderl Kleinen Pfahl, especially through Enno/Perry Beilstein and Don Dreiderforeck for the same reason + dentition issues for the latter.
Just dreaming here. I sure wish I could raise Grando Schloss Veitenstein or Boris Trogenbach from the grave.

Shelley, which one of those dogs would be your first choice, and why? What qualities do they possess that you think would improve your lines? Also, have you heard of V Dragon vom Felsenschloß, and if so, what do you think of him, and are his lines good? I'm not sure why all that came out in bold face...I won't even be able to even walk the dogs for almost 6 weeks, and I can't drive, this really sucks, so I'm trying to improve my knowledge the only way I can, through the PDB, and maybe by driving you nuts with 20 questions every couple of days!! jo
