My Friend Bill - Page 1

This is my friend Bill holding my dog Scout as he usually does every Sat. morning during our club's training session. Bill and his dog Andy make the 50 mile trek every week. Although he physically is unable to show Andy ( other club members show him) in Obd. or Rally , he signs him up, attends and supports the rest of us at every show. I took this photo yesterday as we not only trained but had our annual Sept. birthday bash for our 2 & 4 legged club members. Bill celebrated his 92nd. He's an amazing man and quite an inspiration to us all. I've seen him laugh himself silly as Andy decided to just walk out of the ring during a down stay , I've seen him smile proudly as Andy earned his Rally Advanced title. He reminds me that maybe winning isn't everything maybe winning is continuing to do what makes you happy for as long as you can. As I was emailing this photo to Bill I thought I'd share our treasure with you guys.

Very nice.  I train with the same club and know Bill and Andy.  He is a very upbeat, positive man.  After even the worst performance, he has some good word for you when your are done.

 we should all have a Friend Bill. he sounds like a very fine man.

I just hope someone will haul me and my wheelchair out to the field and let me hold their dogs when I can no longer manage it.

That was such a cool post Pietown!  I think it's wonderful that Bill can get out like that.  I too, hope that I can get around like Bill at that age.

This thread actually had me tearing up. I love elderly folks they are so fun. Bill sounds like the kinda guy every club needs in it. I can only hope I am 1/2 at 1/2 that age.
