I thought it would be fun to name our dogs (and their breeds) that we've had throughout our lives.

As a child:

Happy - Beagle, Skippy - Beagle, Freckles - Dalmation mix, Rip - Weimaraner,Turk - mutt, Ryan - Irish Setter, Ben - German Shorthair Pointer, Bucky - German Shorthair Pointer

As an adult:

Ted Bear - Terrier mix, Arnold - plain old mutt, Cody - Border Collie, Autumn - GSD/Collie mix, Clementine - GSD, Barli - GSD, Lucy - GSD, Hannah B - Yorkie, Tillie - Yorkie, Cooper - Border Terrier, Nell - Border Terrier, Link - GSD, Drake - GSD

That's in order from first to last, I've never had a litter of puppies.

Funny, as I was typing this I can trace progressions in my life and how each breed fit in.  Started with a small dog, progressed to the GSD.  Got divorced, lived in an apartment and small duplex (Yorkies), remarried the ex, moved into a townhouse (Border Terriers), bought a bigger house with a big yard and I'm right back to the best of breeds, the GSD!!

My first dog was a golden retriever named Chad.  I got him when I was 12 yrs and he passed away when I was 25 yrs.  Then I got my first German Shepherd named Reno.  I didnt have him very long, before i placed him with my sister and then I got Judd.  He was my first Sch dog and he also was a SAR dog.  I put him down July of this year.  He was 13 yrs.  While I had Judd, I also had Maybe-German Shepherd, Joey-Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Jaycee-German Shepherd, Angus-German Shepherd, Brix-German Shepherd and Jetta-German Shepherd.  Judd outlasted all of these, some I sold, some passed away.   Spike, a Chiuhauaha/fox terrier cross, found me about 4 yrs ago, and besides him I currently have Emma-Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Umi-German Shepherd, Rookie-German Shepherd, Tara-German Shepherd and Dayzee, my Pembroke Welsh corgi Pup.

And anywhere from 4-8 Persian cats...

Then I got my first GSD, Tonka. Tonka passed away December of 2004. Then I got Bruno. He was my personal protection dog. He is now retired at 10 years old and lives with my mom as her protector. Then I got Aiko, who is a son of Tonka. Then my boyfriend got his GSD, TJ, who is also a son of Tonka. Then I got Xena, my Czech female GSD. As a kid: "Jacques" Airedale Terrier who ate my superball, had surgery and still died, "Bristle" obnoxious cockapoo, "Lottie" and then "Rosie" both English Springer spaniels L&W, amazing dogs...

As an adult: "Rusty" GSD mix from pound, "Tirzah" my first purebred GSD, "Riessa" American line GSD rescue.

Present day:  "Aisha" (3yrs) working line GSD rescue, rounded out with "Rufus" (8yrs) Aussie mix rescue and "Maggie" (12.5yrs)Black Lab service dog rescue who even with severe spondylysis gets up on the counter to eat the cat food-she gets the bowls down and leaves them neatly on her bed so clean they look like they came out of the dishwasher...no one told me Labs eat EVERYTHING!

Fun thread!
