I was looking to here from people with Tiekerhook dogs.  I recieved my new pup and she seems to be a one person dog, is this common with Tiekerhook lines?  She is aloof to people in crowds but very observant and relucant to meet people one on one. She is not a social butterfly, but was wondering if this seems to be the norm for these lines..

Mine was that way.  They are great dogs.  Excellent working dogs.  I would not say mine was reluctant to meet people, but he ignored other people.  Very confidant stable dog.

I own the top male from Branko Breeding of Tiekerhook Kennels. The dog has the nerves of steel.

He could take on a lion if needed and he is just 5 months old. Tiekerhook dogs are the top of the line in the working line GSD world.

They are not your cuddly poochy pooch lovy dovey babies. They are hard dogs with much aggression and need very structured environment to live in otherwise can get very very destructive. Maybe not for first time handlers.

Thanks for the responses, sound just like my pup. My female will just walk away from people that show intrest in her.

I think it may also depend on the age of the pup, how long you had her too.  Sometimes it pays to look at the pup's stage of development.  My dog is Tiekerhook through his sire's side (Carmen II/ Lanzo/ Esthera). So maybe not enough "Tiekerhook" to make a big difference More aloof as he has gotten older, very stable and confident; does not seem perceive threat at the drop of a hat.  My dog also knows that interacting with me is a helluvalot more fun than attention from other people; which is a trait that I want and trained for.  I must add too my dog has excellent grips--I believe that is from the Tiekerhook lines.

Sounds like great temperament for a working dog!  The GSD should be somewhat aloof with strangers, and attentive to the handler.  Congratulations for getting such a correct puppy!  I hope that you're working with a good SchH club or other dog trainers because you're going to have a little monster on your hands.

Best wishes!

ts342003:   Isnt this your ad to sell the dog you are posting on this thread,,,,

Your description on the ad doesnt sound like the same pup you are talking about here?

what gives here......also  the mother of your pup is on this site for sale also?

Just curious why your selling a pup your asking questions about with negative slurs and your ad tells a different story of confidence and the best there is...out of Max and Debby     You stated you just flew her in, and now shes for sale..????????

a little confusing  ......

I can probably answer some of this for you.I too own a pup from this litter and all I can say is that she is one hell of a female. She is not scared of a thing,I even take her to the shooting range with me.The only reason that the mother is getting sold is because the owner is getting away from the whole breeding completely. He wants to shrink his yard down to 2 dogs and they are 2 sons from Debby.

Trust me the issues this person may be having with his/her pup does not reflect on the rest of the litter and definately not the mother.
