Has any one heard of home progesterone testing? Some one told me there is a company that you can buy kits from but that was all they knew. They thought it was something camelot or Camelot something. Anyone know if this is true and if they work? I couldn't find any more information.

Ask Louise Penery.  She uses Camelot Farms all the time and has had great success with them.

Camelot Farms tests are very user friendly--if you are capable of following written instructions. I have been using them for years. They are quite accurate and easy to read. Every female I've tested and bred to my males has conceived.

Yes, you do have to draw blood (heavens--you draw blood from a vein--not from an artery). I prefer to use a 1 ml TB syringe with a 25 gauge needle.

I have heard of some breeders who go the the vet and let a tech draw blood and spin it. You take the serum home and run the test. The fee I've heard is ~$10.

If you are comfortable with this, please email me privately for further particulars. Otherwise, don't go buggering up peripheral veins.

Thanks, sounds like they have good kits.
