I really don't mean to sound snobbish but why are we posting dogs with only the sire and dam known and the rest unknown? What is there to gain from this?  Ok, please learn from the postings on this board and perhaps you will not purchase a dog with unknown from the 2 generation back. If all you want is a German Shepherd for a pet please consider adopting. The shelters and rescues are full of wonderful and many times well bred German Shepherds.

Again, this may have come across as harsh but!!!!! Yes, they have every right to be proud of their dog. It does not have to be a champion but don't clutter up the data base. How can anyone trace the ancestery if there is none so to speak?

I know, I find it rather annoying too.  I think that sometimes people just don't even bother to register the prior generations even though they may have the info.

I agree and believe I have pointed this out before.

I have just registered my 2 on this site. Their fathers came up, along with their pedigrees, but not their mothers. Am I allowed to enter this info?? I did the mother of one, and their was no further information, so I stopped. I'm not too sure if I was allowed to post the information of someone elses dog!!

I spent almost 2 yrs. searching for my Rescued GSD's pedigree. I did add hers here. I only had to fill in the first 2 or 3 generation & all the rest were here already. It goes all the way back to 7 Generations. I hope no one minds? I am really interested in learning about the different

dogs on it.

No, Yvette, you are welcome. please, you did alot of reseach and an very hororable thing adopting your dog. But...I believe some of the dogs listed are BY Bred  with no paper work. Just know mom and dad.

Stay here and learn. We never stop learning and if someone thinks they know it all it just supports their ignorance. No one knows everything.

Shaz, yes you are allowed to post. Many of us had to enter information on past generations.

I'm sure some of these dogs are entered so that the owner can provide their friends etc. with a link to see their dog.  Even then, with cable or DSL you'll waste about 3.5 seconds on an uninformative pedigree before moving on to the next.  So I really don't see what the big deal is.

What annoys me, is when people register dogs, and don't register neither the mother or father! THAT is what upsets me!
