my female puppy is 4 1/2 months old.... i am just curious  what should be a good wieght for her or what wieght should she be at

by Luvmidog on 22 September 2007 - 20:09

what bloodline or post a pic of her......I dont own a scale but to guess no more than 35 -  40 lbs...that could be heavy for some   as she gets to 6 mos. keep weight at that and no greater as slow ,slow ,weight  gain is important......keep as slender as you can

some people dont like the look of slender,  who cares about looks at this age,,,its all about   HEALTH  . I cringe when people post a year old that already weigh   80 lbs...

bone densities are different , but bones are not what increases weight...people are afraid of someone calling their dog     "skinny"

so be it....skinny means healthu if your feeding correctly......fat means problems  as well as   Hefty"  : thats the name of the bag company....lol

I agree with Luvmidog, a picture needs to be posted, along with a Pedigree. Not just a generalization, either. Workinglines aren't all the same weight, it varys, the DDR weigh a lot while most of the Czech are smaller, and more agile. (Same with Showlines as well) If you'd like to privatly email for my opinion, please feel free to do so,

I remind every one of what I laugh at and read in the judges own words at the 2006 Seiger show ,

" O am not fully satisfied with this class. The first five dogs have been critiqued.
