i got into class for her as puppy class for socializing.
today was her first day of class.
there were like four other dogs, lab, poodle, dobie...
among those dobie and lab were very active.
my dog remain very shy and doesn't want to go anywhere and trainer asked to put my on the top of the table to watch other dogs play. i even saw her rear leg shaking rarely.
at the end of the class all the dog has to pass tunnel. mine did at the end than other dogs but tried to remain inside the tunnel even if i showed her treat.
treat wasn't nothing for her at this point.
the trainer asked me not to pull her leash and leave where she feels comfortable and let her watch.
the trainer thinks maybe she will come out after few other class.
have you had any experience to share with me would be really appreciate?
once after got home she is back to energetic again and doing all the commands right away.
i'm taking her frequent to parks and crowds these days.
but i'd like to hear any suggestions and experience would be great.
thanks

I recommend that you begin to take your puppy every where you go. the dog needs to build up its confidence. My puppy was the same way but once her confidence was built she was ok. take her everywhere, try to get her to play as much as you can. also try to refrain from saying no. a constant NO can actually discourage the dog and cause it to be shy and hesitant because it is not sure what is ok and what is not ok. also another seggestion is try to take the puppy to places where there are other dogs let her go up to the dogs and let her play with the dogs. BE CAUTIOUS though, keep an eye at all times and be very prepared to pull you dog back if anything were to happen. Also have the dogs favorite toy in you p[ocket and get her to play with it at all times but do not get her tired of it. i recomend that you have more than one toy that she likes and constantly change it up while she is playing that way she will never get tired of the toys, it will always be different.

I have a four year old female who I got as a 16 week old puppy from a breeder who apparently did nothing with her. Despite good breeding, she was kennel shy. She stuck to me like velcro for a couple of months. But I did just what was recommended -- took her everywhere -- and she is fine. It's a subtle thing, however. Don't overprotect her and don't reward her for nervousness (don't pet her when she acts frightened -- just speak directly and confidently as if there is nothing wrong). But don't push her beyond her limits, either. Good luck.

thanks for suggestions.
suprisingly, these days she loves to get on car ride. and if i want to take her out and bring her harness she drops down right away wagging her tail. i feel like she loves to be outside.
isn't it good sign? :)

Good sugestions all. The important thing at this stage is to keep everything positive for her. She should think that going out and seeing the world as great fun!
