Anyone know what happened here? Just curious of there was an injury or something?

Which part?  That the dog's grip slipped and he tried to stay out of hitting range until he could get another?  Or that he ssemed to slop at one point?

I'd be curious to know too.  I can't think of many dogs at this level trial where this happens.  I have seen dogs come off  & rebite immediately, but for a dog to refuse to rebite at the BSP?  I hope someone will please provide some education for me here!

he never gripped and he was chased.   Very sad to see it at any level, but is strange to see it at this level.  However I recall seeing several dogs chased away at the WUSV so I guess it does happen.  Hate to see it though -

It seems the BSP was not at all upto the standard this year. There were some real third grade dogs.

I see a nervy dog. I wonder if hes up for sale somewhere?

by JustDontGetIt on 18 September 2007 - 13:09

Unbelievable! I noticed they omitted his name on the video. I am sure he will be on sold to someone in the great USA and put on their website as the next great BSP competitor available at stud.

I'm horrified with the audience reaction !!!

This is just one moment on one competition.  This could be a great dog although I don't know him.

Is this the reaction of sport-loving people?

Bitweiser you're either the owner of this dog or your nerves are as bad as his. Either way it's OK the comments are not harsh on the dog but we observed a bad performance and were only in awe. None of the comments were rated X

Well said Bitweiser!! I felt the same emotion when looking at the video.

The dog might have been a good dog, that did very well on different occasions and all of his trainingsessions. He made it through the selections, didn't he?

Now he missed the sleeve indeed, and missed his second bite, then was only avoiding, as MFV pointed out, to get slapped in the nose, and  got confused in the action. He might never have experienced this before.

Anyway. The reaction of the public was disgusting. If a dog doesn't do well, let it be. No need to boo either dog or handler. True sportsmanship is spelled differently! I'm sorry for the handler. The embarassment must have been huge enough, the booing was inappropriate. I bet the guys and galls that have never performed booed the loudest.
