Hi everyone,
Not trying to start a fight, I just want some opinions. From MY PERSONAL EXPIRANCE, what I have seen with my own eyes, and the two bitches I currently own, I GREATLY prefer the Czech/Slovak lines for Personal Protection.
Why do I prefer these lines? I feel that the two females I have (One is 100% Czech, the other 50%) both are handler sensitive, and our bond is on a much deeper level than say a dog for sport would be. Now I am a very emotional person, I take things to heart, and likewise, wear my heart on my sleeve. My girls know this, and are very gentle with me, but if given a command both execute flawlessly. Is thise because not only them, but I am in a different mind frame?
Here's an example, I thought of today...About 5am this morning (very much STILL DARK) I went out with Naya (50%DDR, 50%Czech, 1 year old) at my side to retrieve my newspapers, which are located by my mailbox, OUTSIDE of my fence. I'll be honest, I was nervous. I am in a VERY safe area, with a dog I would trust my life to, but still, the dark, with strange noises out in the middle of the woods practically, I was scared. Anyway, we left the gate, Naya and I. I was almost to my mail box, when I thought I heard something. I looked by my right side, Naya, fully tence, ear's almost touching they were so pricked, her tail slowly starting to curle...I looked at her, and gave her the command to bark, she started barking like a maniac, as I had told her to do. Then I hear, "KRISTA, WAIT, NOOO, NOO, IT'S ME!!!!" I gave Naya the off command (all the while she was still at my side) and she calmed down. It was my little neighbor's daughter, Mackenzie. She came into the light of my front porch, and she was scared...She didn't understand why I had asked Naya to fire on her.
The point of my story, Naya was 100% on about my emotions and barked her heart out to what I believe, was not only to obey but also to comfort me, that she was there, ready to kick some a$$ if needed.
I notice this similar behaviour from my pure Czech bitch (Danica, 7 months) too. Both know when I need to cuddle, or when I need to have the feeling of confidence.
So heres my question; What lines do YOU believe are best for Personal Protection or home protection and WHY???
If you'd like to email me privatly, you may do so as well.

Abhay, don't laugh, but my question, those are West German WORKINGLINES right? I surely haven't seen those names in DDR or Czech backgrounds. Please let me know if they aren't WGR workinglines. I tell you what, though that picture is blocky/blurry, what a looker he is...They just don't make 'em like that anymore do they?

You are correct that Ex von der Maineiche is West German working lines. There is no bluff or BS in the dogs I speak of. They have been proven in real life situations.

Puputz, I know which males you're talking about Mink vh W. and Gildo v K.? Sorry, I would grossly put these dog's to shame with my butchuring of their Kennel names, but I do believe I know which ones you're talking about. Both are supposed to produce LOTS of aggression right? Mink and Crok, both handler aggressive dogs, if I've heard right.

I don't think you can say that DDR/Czech lines are the best for PP. Your dogs maybe protective of you but it does not mean all from those lines are going to protect you. You can get a great PPD from WG,Show lines also. Every dog from diff lines are diff even the ones from the same lines are diff. Just my opinion.

Jettasmom, I said it was MY OPINION. AND, that I wanted MORE opinions...Thats all. I wasn't endorsing anything, I was just stating what I have found, and I wanted other's expirances...thats all.
Thanks Puputz, and it was just what I had heard...All hear-say. Never personally met a pup/dog from Crok or Mink. I've heard Troll was a good producer of drives/nevers ect...any truth to that?
