I am looking at getting a dog from Olymp/Gimi, but would like more info on their lines. What does the FCI: A 1/2 mean? Are the parents Czech? If you wish to email me privately, that would be fine. ladywolf45169@yahoo.com

The pedigree is definatly Czech, other than that, can't help you much as I don't know a lot about Czech lines. Both parents are titled with OFA good hips, so that is obviously a plus. I am sure others can give you more input.

I had asked the same question about the FCI A 1/2 hips, my post was called Question on FCI Hip Ratings and the link to it is:
www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/bulletins_read/128254.html
or you can search my thread's name, on the Search Messageboard feature. It had a lot of good information on the FCI hips...check it out, lots of good responces.

Hello- We have a male police K-9 who is line bred on Barry Asbrete. He is a hard dog Great Czech lines. Olimp is also a nice dog in my opion. The dog we have is a son of Onta Policia( olimp) litter mate. The FCI ratings on this site gives a bit of misunderstanding to many of the czech dogs. The FCI rateings are 0/0 ex 1/1 2/2 and so on. even dogs that rate 0/0 on our czech pedigrees will show up at FCI 1/2 even though that is not the true rateing. Onta is rated (A) and Barry is rated A. Our stud dog is a czech inport and before his OFA was done is had to show up FCI 1/2 as does his fathers but his Czech pedigree shows bith dogs as FCI 0/0. I am not sure if this helps or not.
The lines are nice. Depending on what you are looking for with the czech lines. They tend to be a bit sharp for sport. But we are seeing a lot in the police line of work now.
