Hello.  I am talking about German Showlines in particular.  Of the males that are going VA or perhaps top end V, are there any that are medium sized?  Or medium large?  ie not large.   It is hard sometimes to read or interpret the breed surveys.

Thanks in advance.

Is he?  Anyone want to confirm, deny or add to this?  (thanks crhuerta)

I would look at Ingodd's Albert, currently owned by Julie Martinez of Mittelwest. This dog is nice, large medium, (last I knew) and he can actually work!

According to his German critique (2006 Urma book/V-26):  Teeja is "Big, medium strong, substantial"

I can suggest you VA Karas Crveni Mayestoso, V30 BSZS 2006.

Contact Precision Shepherds http://www.precisionshepherds.com/

If you are interested for his progeny, mail me directly and I will send you pictures.

Karas is very interesting for breed as he gives better than himself and he is dog of correct size,  out of Ursus and very healthy bloodline.

Regards

Amir.

Karas has the exact critique as Teejay from the same 2006 Show:  "BIG, medium strong, substantial .."

vonwaldhimmel

Karas is not big. Did you ever see him?

Do not trust to papers - you must see dog with your own eyes.   Karas is dog with correct size and for actual "big" size dog with kor report of 65 cm which are almost around 67 cm and more he is small dog.   If you compare Karas with actual big dogs he is little bit over medium size in live.

I thought the question posted was MEDIUM size dogs???  I haven't seen him - just read the critique in the 2006 Urma book .... the eyes/comments were those of Heinz Scheerer.

I do not want to start thread how 65 cm in kor report is equal 67 or 68 cm in live, and for me big dogs are over 65 cm, medium 64 - 65 cm, small lower then 64 cm. If you are talking about 62,5 cm as medium size, for me it is out of reality. Problem with GSD height is actual problem in SV and now is trend to stop growth in breeding over 67 cm and that could not be done over night.

We all must be aware that there are a lot of dogs around 70cm and more and until now they were measured as 65 cm dogs, big dogs. 1 cm is not always 1 cm and every big dog is not a same kind of big dog.

Caused by new wind of changes, today, for all new "big" newcomer dog is impossible to attack top place and make kor with 65cm over SV. But there are still many big old  VA dogs on field doing studs every day and there are a more big dogs in all pedigrees of our females. It is very  ingratitude to predict what will be real GSD height standard in near future, but reality is that we have problem with measuring and 62,5 cm GSD today is not medium size dog - that is small.

And if you have experience with measuring dog height you can easy conclude that you can measure same dog with differences of few cm.

If you are target on 62,5 cm pardon me as I make mistake as Karas is absolutely not dog of that size
