I, for one, am getting pretty sick and tired of the constant posts (pretty much from one poster who apparently has nothing better to do) bashing police officers. This is a pedigree database and this is the German Shepherd Dog section. And no, I don't usually even bother reading these posts. I can tell by the topic what it's about so I skip over it. But please people, can't we just stick with intelligent discussions about our breed? Aren't there some police bashing forums out there on the internet where you can go and read to your hearts content about the horrible actions of various police departments and spew your negative comments on them? I know this is a publlic forum which is not moderated and anyone can write whatever they want. But can't we please just discuss GSDs here?

as i said in a diff post , cops are damned if they do, and damned if they don't. some people will never be happy with you no matter what you do. i think the VAST majority of leos are good good servants of the public and i wish you got more credit for the service you provide us. from me, thank you. and i agree, it would be nice if the bashing did not appear on this forum. take care...k

Amen I agree,,,,alot of people are tired of all the bashing....its like some people cant reply in a nice tone with out trying to crucify every one they disagree with...accusing everyone of being byb and never done anything good in your life and a lot more....before long all the bashers can talk to each other.
Thanks Policemom

I would agree as long as we differentiate between bashing and critisizm. There is always room IMO for a well thought out debate, but I don't think that calling someone a moron or worse serves any purpose whatsoever. BTW, if no one remembers, it was a so-called officer that began that with me. The problem that I see is that some (not all) seem to feel that LE is above being called to task for their actions. Sorry, but the world doesn't work that way, and it shouldn't. If you work, you are responsible to whomever pays your paycheck. In the case of LE, that would be the public tax rolls, in other words, all of us.

agreed PSP but maybe we carried it too far lately . , posting all the bad things we find on LEO.....this is a german shepherd base , and maybe unless it is a dog case,,,we need to back off,,,,some people here are moms and dads of leo and leo themselves.and it is not a good feeling to always be defending oneself or their family members...I understand........I get tired of defending my knowledge and my rights too, as a breeder, but the who world chimes in on LEO....yes they need to be accountable, but Policemom, reflects on theme thisis a germanshepherd database...that is why she is here and should be pleasant to post and not cry over spilled milk..........lets try , anyway......
If I involves a dog,,,I think we should post it.....we are dog lovers, and can discuss it and not be directed toward of LEO here on our base.......
We appreciate all the retired LEO and their families we have on here to reply to us and keep us informed on dog matter thru out the various states.....we need to know all we can about what is going on that we can lend a hand to stop or encourage....

This morning I had to take a little trip to a neighoring " big" town for shopping. I rode with someone else who also had errands to run. We got into a discussion about recent tickets we had gotten and irt boiled down to both of us got warning tickets but a regular ticket for not having our insurance card on board. Anyway I said that to say this--I told her what a state we would be in if we had no law enforcement. I have several friends that are LEOs--one in fact got me started in the world of working dogs.
So my point is I too am sick of police bashing. If you don't break the law then you don't have to worry about it. The last time I got stopped it was because my tailights were out. The officer, a hiughway patrol, was very nice as I was nice to him in return. He did weite me a ticket for my insurance card and then told me to take my card to the court clerk's office within 48 hrs. and it would be dismissed. I did and it was. I thanked him for telling me my tailights were out.
In my area, there is a state park and also a national park. We are the county seat so there are deputies, city cops, BIA (bureau of Indian Affairs), the tribal police and highway patrols. Any of them can stop you and ticket you or help you if that's what you need. So if you don't like small towns with plenty of cops that all seem to be very nice, then don't come here. I love it personally.

The other side... Condolences to family, friends, and co-workers. Prayers for a speedy recovery to those that survived.
