I am looking for someone that breeds GSD in the hampton roads area, in Virgina USA. I have a GSD that was given to me. After Hurricane Isabel the owner couldn't keep her. At that time she was app. 4-5 months old. Everyone including vets, breeders, and anyone that sees her says that she is a purebred. I DON"T KNOW, I don't want ot breed ( i had her spayed) her i would just like to find some info on her background. Like why she doen't have any jaw teeth on her left side bottom? Simple things like that. Stuff that could help in her health later on. Although she is very healthy now. I know I probably won't ever find out any thing but I trying anyway. She's worth it. The first dog I have ever had since a puppy and a VERY large learning expirence as well. I'm finding out that I have done alot of things wrong, and now I tryng to fix it . This site has helped a bundle.

She's a gorgeous animal. Nice head. The tooth issue could be a number of things. Could be hereditary, could be damage from chewing on bones, rocks, bricks, stuff like that. if you are extremely concerned, you can talk to your vet about implants, but for a pet, I don't see the need for it. I love the dark rich red color. Could be at least part import lines, not sure, I'd have to see her whole body to tell for sure.

She is a very pretty girl. Perhaps during the hurricane she was hit in the jaw by something? I think trauma to the mouth can also cause teeth to not come in correctly. Without seeing her standing my guess is a German X American bloodline. So glad you took her in and gave her a good home!

She looks like an American GSD to me. God bless you for giving her a good home.

THANKS EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just wanted to tell everyone thank you. It's funny cause I have had very bad expierences with the GSD. I have been bite twice as a kid. 2 different dogs but both GSD. I have never been afraid of them. I always thought they were gorgeous. When we agreed to take Star,we had no idea that she possibly could be full blood GSD. As she got older that has changed.I made the mistake of not socializing her properly, of which I'm trying to change now. She is teaching me alot. This site also. The more I learn the more I'm loving all GSD. She is showing some of her heritage though. She herds our other 2 dogs(a pekingnese & a long coated chiuwawa) and 2 cats. Check out the pekingnese i just posted a thread on him. You'll fall in love like Star has.
