Shelley Strohl

by Shelley Strohl on 10 September 2007 - 16:09

Well I did it, folks. I entered the first all-gray working dog Progeny Group in the history of the sport in the US in the NASS next month. Don't know if I can pulll it off, as to present a well-rounded group I will have to talk a few people into bringing over a few of my dog's titled/KK1/V-rated progeny from Germany, but the second deadline for entries isn't here yet, so I have some time to pester them yet. My oldest Carol puppy is in the 18-24 mos. female class, so its not a very good representitive group, but next year....

It'll be interesting to see if anyone will actually sit with me in the bar Thursday night in St Louis once they've seen the catalog. Ha ha ha.

Shelley- (a glutton for punishment, it seems;)

Shelley you will need six dogs minimum and for the progeny group they don't need to be titled and breed surveyed.   I am looking forward to seeing them.   Go for it.

6 dogs not counting the father in the veteran's class? No?

Oh dear. I'd better get busy and start shaking the trees with my owners... I only have 5 so far, from two mothers. I am trying to convince some owner from Germany to bring some of his older progeny, but may not be able to manage before Thursday's late deadline. Guess I'd better get on the phone... and BEG.  Ha ha ha.

Then again, there are others in this country... just not very old.

thanks for the info. As you can tell, this would be my first progeny group.

Do you have any pics of the all gray dogs. I'm really curious what they look like. My dog Blue, is in all actuality, "gray",

Was trying to say yes, six not counting the father.  All must be entered in the show in their regular classes.  I have five for my male,

4-6 female

6-9 male

9-12 male

12-18 male

12-18 female

I think it says the sire need not be entered to have a group.

Gray is another term for sable.  A dog that is actually all gray is a dilute & would not be acceptable in the show ring.
