Am curious about some of the dogs I see ads posted for...how come some of these dogs look so SKINNY?

I understand lean, but some of these dogs you can count every rib on in the picture...this cannot be considered ideal working condition can it?

Is it just me?

Thank you

I AGREE !

dogs are like run-way models now? the skinner the better? that is not a healthy look to me......dog anorexia?

I think most Americans are just so accustomed to seeing fat dogs, but there is an obvious difference between a lean, well muscled dog and one who is malnourished.

Actually, I am not referring to the true "lean" and fit looking dogs, I am very comfortable with that type. I don't want to post any links to the specific ads and/or pics of the dogs I am writing about, because I certainly do not want to make anyone feel they are being targetted or the like, but, I am talking about dogs that are very THIN, you can see each and every rib in the picture...thats not lean and fit to me..thats skinny. Just my opinion though.

Skinny, lean, athletic, anorexic these are all semantics, what is one persons thin is another person's lean.  THe proof of the pudding is not in the look but the performance.  If the dog has sufficient energy, stamina, strength and speed to fulfil its requirements then it is obviously not a problem.
