kool it may be she needs some time to get use to the bones. I would keep giving them to her a couple times a week. I would think sooner or later she will like them. You mention they are from the pet store? Try getting real one from the grocery store. The chewing and gnawing is also helpful if her ears aren't up. As far as other dogs puppies, I have seen some of my own dogs go thru this stage. They seem to come out of it. Just make sure she doesn't get dominated by another dog/pup and its always positive for her.

thanks Trailrider,

i'll buy her beef marrow bones and will provide one. lets see how she will do for a week. then i'll slowly provide her.

i'm hoping she will come out of the behavior when she grows up.

i usually keep her frontyard to watch some other dogs and people pass by so she get used to but i never let her go close as she hasnot completed her shots yet. before she used to scare with people as well now she keeps calm and watches. but the dogs she rans back. but i always stay there and praise her to stay calm and walk with me and i just completely ignore her.

lets see.

thanks

I don't recommend any raw bones. Raw, means germs. And the longer it stays uneaten, the more germs grow.

I don't recommend hard bones, that can splitter into mouth and inside abdomen.

Hard bones can break teeth, know, had it happen.(bought a smoked bone from pet store once, and dogs came up deathly sick, had to take to vet)

Recommend for teething little ones. Ice cubes in moderation for swollen gums. The vet also has a new chew bone for house pets, that numbs the gums temporarily  for little guys. A lady got one from the vet and she said it worked great. She had a huge Newfoundland pup.

Hope this helps.

Hi There,

My puppies are intorduced to bones from 7 weeks of age.  They Get Beef Knucle bones,  By 12 weeks of age they chew on a half a leg for 121 hours.  When I give bones, I skip a meal.  They only get bones once a week.  The AQdults demolsh them.  Germs are good for the dog to develop their immunity, therefore I provide dirty tripe for their consumption.

Gut bacteria is important to maintain the balance.  In fact I feed mostly natural food, Rice, vegetables, meat.  Othere meat Turkey backs, chicken backs, Dirty tripe,  Mince all raw.  Cooked liver.

I only feed sog foods ehen I do not have time.

By the way my kennel is Herdersfarm Home.

Good luck

Gavin

Raw bones are perfectly fine for 7 week old pups   start with chicken necks and chop into smaller pieces...they will chew then up   round steak bones are great and cow hooves..too....do not buy the smoked bones   they are full of nitrates and nitrites....AND MOST OF THEM ARE FROM FOREIGN COUNTRIES.....THAT S WHAT MADE YOUR DOG SICK.......GET REAL BONES...FROM BUTCHER SHOP WITH FRESH MEAT....

smoked anything is no good for humans or animals...go to butcher and buy fresh bones......the bacteria on a bone wont hurt a dog   they have different system than we do

Oprah had a great vet on her show last week and he talked about giving dogs raw meat or bones....\

Any vet that still believes that old notion, needs to regroup and  learn a few things.....of course, meat is different   you cant leave raw meat sitting around,,,if they dont eat raw meats in 30 mins   trash it......

rawhide is a big   NO.....chocking item....aLL THE COMMERCIAL CRAP YOU BUY AT PETSMART IS TREATED WITH CHEMICALS......EVEN THE BONES THAT ARE COLORED ARE NO  NO.....DYE IS DANGEROUS   .....READ LABELS    FOR ALL THESE THINGS,,,,,

THE GOOD OLE   MILK BONE  COMPANY IS THE BEST....AND TRACTOR SUPPLY HAS A BAG OF TINY BONES,,CLEAR NO COLOR.....FOR TRAINING...

GOOD LUCK....

I have no problem with giving a pup raw (never cooked) marrow or neck bones.  We are lucky enough to live near a buffalo farm where I can get as many as I need but beef is almost as good.  Be sure to take them away after a few days before they start to get hard and brittle.  They are great for keeping the pup's attention when kenneled or crated. .In fact, someone here suggested that when the marrow is gone you can stuff them with liverwurst.  They LOVE it!

Raw Meaty bones are excellent for all dogs of any breed.

My GSD was on raw chicken wings prior to being weaned and has only been fed raw since he came home with me at 7 weeks.  This is a species appropriate diet.

Be aware that there are two types of bones, those that are designed to be consumed and those that are recreational.

However, dogs do not always know the difference.

Knuckle bones with marrow provide excellent gnawing exercise for strong jaws and teeth, however marrow can be a little laxative so you may need to ration access!

Mine eat chicken legs, wings, carcases, thighs etc from 7 weeks and progress to any meat that is available.

Dogs have a different alimentary canal to us and are designed to consume raw food (after all in the wild they did not toddle down to the nearest 7-11 for a can).

Their digestive systems are designed to cope with salmonella, campylobacter, e-coli etc we are, after all, talking about dogs that like to like their own bottoms!

i couldn't find marrow or knucle bones but i got ribs and took out fat from it and provided her only one piece with my supervision.

she liked it and took a while to finish it up.

i just provide her only one this time and maybe i'll introduce slowly once a week or so.

thank you all for your suggestions.

regarding shy issue once she will complete her vaccination which is this september 25th after that i'll take her to dog park and will try to introduce to her. lets see if she will overcome with her bahavior.

thanks.

You need to buy chicken necks  and chicken wings and chicken backs.....Rib bones may be too harsh right now....the bone meal when she crushes it and chews it , provide several rewards....vit c comes from the raw meat,,,and the digestion needs the bones....

I just chop necks in half and cut backs with chop knife, into several pieces.....and wings  break apart and give several.. introduce like you are doing    one piece at a time.....raw lliver,,,from super walmart,  use small portion and increase every 5 days to a little bit more....until about a slice every three days or so....alternate with the chicken wing , then a couple of chicken necks   next day give a few pieces of back......reduce the kibble , and your dog will love. you    throw an egg in,,,yard eggs better  , wash first   give whole egg   ,in a pan with pups kibble and a few pieces of meat...
