Hi, I am thinking about importing a puppy from Tiekerhook kennels. Has anyone imported pups from this kennel? How have the quality of the dogs been. Is this a trustworthy kennel. I'm not to familiar with them. Thanks in advance.

Excellent kennel with good reputation in service and quality of dogs they produce. I have never imported from them but know others that have.

I have just bought my dog. Gismo Van Tiekerhook and have known Koos Hassing for the last 6 years.
There is no more honest peron in this business than Koos and straightforward. Not just that, if you really want a dog worth his/her salt buy a Tiekerhook. You will not regret it. Social Aggression, Drives, Genetic Bite you name it and Tiekerhook dogs have it.
Check out my Dog's Pedigree. He is a real Alligator!!!
cheers

If you are not familiar with this kennel, I have to ask how familiar are you with the breed? I don't want you to take this the wrong way, but Koos doesn't breed a dog for the unexperienced. He breeds a real working dog and sometimes this may be more than some can handle. You may be very experienced, but with malinois or another breed. Possibly, you are very experienced, just not with shepherds. I don't know, but this is not a beginner's dog. What are your plans for the dog?
If you are a somewhat experienced handler, good luck! Very nice dogs.

I went to a Koos seminar last year in Indy with my dog axel his training is not for the faint of heart, That being said i,m in the process of buying a Female for breeding and a pup in the next few months I really believe he will supply you with a good dog just remember be carful what you ask for because you will get it from this kennel if you are looking for a serious working dog you will find it there. I like Koos because he will tell you like it is with no bull shit or candy coating you may not like what you hear but it probably the truth.

Bob McKown, is so correct "be carful what you ask for " ,Could not be better said..
Years ago I asked and I got it, I also needed help and fast. I really hope you understand what it is you "think" you want.

I had received an email this morning from Mr. Hassing. He is asking 3,000 for his puppies, which does include shipping. Is this the going rate? It seems a bit high to me. Thanks everyone for your help.

that is the price I paid. Yes thats a very reasonable price considering the fact of the fall in the US dollar currency and also the quality you are getting. Tiekerhook dogs are not cheap and yes you have to pay a little above average price for top dogs. But you will also get very professional level of service and no dicking around for papers and SV pink papers . Dog not reaching your airport., Different dog being sold etc etc and other nonsense you keep reading on this site. In case you are buying first time I would suggest you pay a visit to the kennel and see for yourself. Meet the folks and find out first of all if you are even upto handling such aggressive dogs. as Don Corleone said.

I just got a pup out of Max Tiekerhook and she is phenomenal. She is highly intelligent, full of prey drive and just the other night she was barking like a grown dog at strange sounds during the night.I am very pleased with her.
