The person whose animals were killed is one of our dog club. The animals killed were her pets. The worst part is that Animal Control, when they had caught some of the dogs that did this, told her that the owner could get them back....amazing!!!

flygirl55, I am in PB County - I'm guessing you are in Broward.
I am sorry about the pack attack above - we have been discussing the same type of issue on this recent thread:

Can you email me with your club info; ie - next meeting, where, etc. I have been looking to join a club and haven't found anything in PB County. clews-k9s@hotmail.com

that is so sad.. those poor animals... my hubby's aunt had bought her daughter a lamb when she was little...they were in the process of building a pen, but at first had the lamb tied out...one day a stray dalmation came in the yard, we were petting the dog some, wondering whos it was..we went inside to call a neighbor who we thought the dog might belong to...the lamb in the back yard didn't even cross our mind...a few mins later i walked back outside and the dog was gone.. i said " where did the dog go?" tash's(the aunt) eyes got big ..she said" OMG! The lamb!" we ran around back..well you know the end...it was an awful thing to see
what was even worse, was that my dad had told us the day before, that she better hurry up and get the lamb in a pen before a stray dog got it..he said that most farm animals a dog might leave alone but that there is something about a lamb that will draw stray dogs to them, most dogs will kill it in a heartbeat..something about the smell...

No matter how nice the dogs or even if they have been raised with stock, pack mentality is a bitch. I had my own experiences with it here. Fortunatly it involved my own goat and no one died.
