hi everyone, been reading these pages for a long time, thought i will send a photo of my girl winnie. I am based in India and have always have had dogs. This is my 2nd GSD. First one died on the operation table after she broke her shoulder falling from the terrace.( reaction to the anaesthesia).
Winnie does not have any papers, got her from a pet store for Rs 1500. ( approx 35 us dollars). Not exactly long hair but quite silky around her head. She is great with my 2 children, has basic obedience. Not planning to breed her or sell her. What do you suggest regarding mammary tumours. I have read somewhere that it is better to have the dog spayed if you are not planning to breed her to prevent mammary tumours.
Had a dasch Cross bitch who had tumours and had to be operated twice, Also not spayed.

Winnie sounds like a nice dog for you and your children to enjoy. It would be best for her and you to have her spayed. Healthier for her as you've already researched and less trouble as she won't come in season. Have fun with her.

She's a very pretty girl. I hope she brings you years of happiness.

thanks policemom, animules for your posts. In my place have a lot of trouble with stray dogs and whenever she comes in season, her boyfriend (as scrawny as they come) stands waiting outside our gate.
Have to keep watching out as our wall is just abt 4 feet high and can easily be jumped over. Anyway this season is past without any trouble.
Will try to get the operation done before the next season.
She is 2 years old. DOB- 1st june, same as my wedding date.
regards.
