How Lazy Can You Be?
Have your dog "do it's thing" and then bring it back to you to save you the walk over to pick it up! What's next, an automated "wiper"?

That poor dog......

Good for collecting specimens, or to find out if your dog passed that certain thing he wasn't supposed to eat, as Beckett did tonight; I wonder if they make them for urine, too? Sure be easier than trying to catch that stream! The dog looks kind of humiliated, though. jo

Brittany......It is just one of the items I recently saw for the newest pet owner Convenience "Gadgets". They offer a Remote Control Wire Crate Opener to open your dogs Wire Crate, then the Remote Control pet doggie dog opener to open the doggie door so you don't have to get out of bed and then they offered this "harness" to send your dog out in so he can "do his thing" and then bring it back to you packaged for disposal.
p.s. they even sell a "goldfish walker" so you can place your Goldfish bowl on this special wagon with a harness, platform and wheels and actually take your goldfish for a walk to give them a chance to see new scenery so they don't get bored.

ROFL I did some research on that goldfish walker that you were talking about and I couldn't believe somebody would make something like this up! I'm sure by the time the stupid human returns home with the goldfish that hes gonna find out that he's going to have a floater!

I cant help but to admit that I've thought of some pretty irrational inventions... I thought to myself "um, this isnt going to sell, it's stupid!" So I didn't bother going to the patent office.. The next time I think of something up... The first thing im gonna do is to take a ride down to the patent office and patent it.

I'd love to see something like this for urine collection! The first time Ihad to get a sample from Ranger, it was -20 outside. He wouldn't pee on his leash in the backyard, kept looking at me like I was nuts or something. When we went for a walk along the street, it was sniff every post/tree, dribble a bit, and on to the next one. By the time I got the sample bottle in position, he'd have finished. I got a couple of drops in the bottom of the container, and they were frozen solid by the time I gave up and came inside.
The vet's didn't have any better luck when they did his ultrasound last week. It was finished by 10:30, and they finally got a urine sample from him just before they closed for the day, at 6:30 pm! (Of course, he had to recover enough from the sedation first that he could stand up.)
I could see this as being useful for a blind person, but wonder if all the adjustments they'd have to make to the buckles and positioning the bag properly might not be too difficult for them. Guide dogs are trained only to eliminate in certain areas, to make it easy for the blind person to clean up after them. Males are neutered early to prevent them from lifting their leg to pee, as scent-marking is a no-no, and it's easier for the blind person to tell what they're doing if they crouch to pee like a female.

It would probably make Photo of the week to see the "after" picture. The one where the dog is trying to walk back home with the "pouch" Full and dangling and swaying and banging around between the hind legs as the dog attempts to walk back to bring home the "finished product". Can you picture that?!?

I had the same thought as Domenic.
