Their absolute favorite way is our creek but, it's been so hot that I haven't even felt like walking them down there lately so, they've been enjoying their kiddie pools instead.

Either way, they just smell like wet dog afterwards....

Mine sneak to the creek on my property and I dont want them in it....dont know what someone could have dumped in in downstream   ,,,Plans to fence it off so they cant get in it.....I have a clear spring in the middle of it...can see water coming up from there, but the main water comes from clear down the country accross a lot of peoples land  that dont have a clue what they have dumped in it...

I bought a water sprayer to install above the concrete kennel guys, but havent installed it yet..

The rest  dunk themselves , head and neck and front feet in the water buckets.....have to empty several times a day..

YRofT,

That's what mine were doing and they would end up dumping their buckets over because they "dig" the water, too.  I finally had to wire the buckets to the chainlink.  (They're already clipped at the handle but, they'd get their heads up underneath them after they lightened the load by "digging" and dump them in their "fun".)  I was so worried about them being without water in this heat.  I finally noticed the buckets have a groove about an inch or so from the bottom that wire fits in nicely.  It's a pain to clean them now because I have to slip the bucket out of the "noose" every time but, it's so much better knowing they're not without water.  I would run home at lunch to check on them and with gas prices and only a half hour for lunch, that wasn't working.

Mine also dig in their buckets but their favorite is to get in the pool- which I do not encourage. lol  I'll go out and water my flowers and when they see the hose they want me to play with them so I squirt them and they try to bite at the water.  They're so silly I get a kick out of watching them.

After a long day at work, I like to pick up a 12 pack of cold ones and change into a pair of speedo.  I fill up a kiddie pool and hang out in it with the dogs.  The neighbors must be jealous.  Every time I do this, they sit there and stare.

I got tired of going through so many kiddie wading pools, dogs can be hard on them....  We got a sheep size stock tank (about 100 gallons) perfect for splashing and having a toy floating in.  Small enough to change water often too.  We give them turns in it.

4pack,

Lucky dogs you have there.  We dont have anyplace close we can do that.

Here's Boa learning to swim.  Just like a little kid, splashing water in her eyes so she closed them.  She didn't want to come out.

DON--LOL

my dog "digs" in his water bucket, the first time i saw him do it i thought somthing was in the bottom of the bucket and he was trying to get it out, finally we realized he was using his front feet to splash the water back onto his belly..its pretty funny to watch him spin all around it trying to get at different angles and he hikes up his mid-section so it can go closer over the top of the bucket while keeping his front feet in. he will also tip himself a little sideways and use one foot to get it up on his sides...im constantly changing water too..gets muddy very quick, but i guess he realized by doin it this way he won't have to dump it all out---which he has done before (to lay in it) on my kitchen floor......i really need to get a kiddie pool, yesterday( i think it was yesterday, or the day before) the temp high was 105 here, 110 or more in the sun.

my mother-in-law owns his sister and she has a flow-well, common around here---lucky dog has the freshest, coldest water flowing constantly, she pretty much lives in it....boss loves it when we go to visit ...but the car ride home is a bit messy..
