first time shepherd owner - Page 1

any helpful hints or suggestions about training would be appreciated.  Last november i purchased a german shepherd pup, (female) she'll be a year old the end of august.  since she's been 12 weeks old she's been in class every saturday for obedience training, she does very well, i guess we're learning together.  She is such a joy, i'm very glad i got her.  I didnt know who her daddy was until about a week after i got her, his name is fabian vom mittelwest, i was really impressed when i googled him, now i can hardly wait to see what comes next from her.  again any helpful info would be appreciated.   thanks

 Does that mean you are planning to breed her? 

It sounded to me like she is talking about training.  Her first sentence is asking for any helpful hints or suggestions about training.  I think after she researched the sire, she feels her dog has potential.

Good luck eddyhdy with your girl.  There are a lot of knowledgeable people on here that can steer you in the right direction in efforts to train.  You should get some pretty good posts.  Just keep in mind the mindset of the majority of the people on this board is to maintain the highest standards with their GSD's so you should get plenty of information from every side of the spectrum in regards to your girl.

Congratulations on having a Fabian daughter. I love Fabian, so much so, that I purchased a littermate of his. I love my Mittelwest dog, and cannot imagine my life without him.

Thats's so great I have a Romeo vom Mittelwest daughter, she just turned one, what a great pup-she is.   I would love to see pic. of both.

Oh she is a looker! definately has that mittelwest head I so love. Very nice girl!

I love Flint, I always look on-site, & romeo,flint,yasso & panzer are my favorites, I love the way they look. Fury has that look, she's just starting to grow into her ears. The picture doesn't show her true color, she is so red I love it.
