Hello all:
I just posted my Shepherd Arko Van Antoimar on this site. Can anyone tell me what the entitlements in the registration process stand for VA / SG / INTUCH . Arko has completed Advanced Obedience and I doubt if this means anything entitlement wise however it did say "achievements" so this is something he has achieved :)) He is now in Handler Protection and then possibly on to Schutzhund. I was hoping someone could help me with those entitlement codes above.
Thank You
Joe

Hi Joe,
The V, SG and G you see before a dog's name are actually show ratings. The best show rating is a VA and it can only be obtained at the Sieger show. Typically German showlines are going to be VA and V dogs but you do see some working line dogs with a V. Here's a small article explaining more. http://home.flash.net/~astroman/survey.html
Working titles are your Sch. or IPO I, II, and III. If you are the member of a schutzhund club you could get a BH with your dog which is bascially like the A.K.C title of a CD.
In a nutshell: There aren't any titles on the pedigree database that your dog would qualify for unless you were to show him in a German type show or were to work him in Schutzhund and get titles. There is a space were you can put comments like "certified narcotics dog" and so on......... Are you more confused now than before you asked?

You could add agility titles or AKC type obedience titles, I don't know all the designators for them, CD, CDX? Also herding titles, tracking, and SAR. Completeing an obedeince class is a great thing but I don't know if there's a title rating for it, don't think so. One thing you could do is there is a comments section for each dog, you could put his acheivements there.
He looks like a happy dog with some good working lines. Good luck with him and have fun.

For example my dog reads
SG (before his name) 3XHGH SCH2 HSCs HICs HXCs KKL1
What that means is his German Show Rating is an SG (Very Good)
He's achieved the HGH title 3 times (Herding Utility Dog)
Schutzhund 2
Is Breed Surveyed KKL1 for two years at the moment.
And has his AKC
Herding Started, Herding Intermediate, and Herding Excellent all on Course C sheep
Some people will also put up that the dog has passed CGC (Canine Good Citizen)

Actually I noticed further back in my bitch's pedigree that there some of the dogs say HD-zuerkannt
What does this hip rating mean?
I didn't see it on the current list of hip ratings that you can add.

HD-zuerkannt means HD-awarded.
The SV used to just publish "a-zuerkannt" in the first two generations in a pedigree and not disclose the actual rating like normal, fast normal or noch zugelassen. It indicates that the dog was awarded the a-stamp.

Hello All:
I haven't checked into the site in a bit and would like to say thanks to everyone in advance for the very helpful answers to my questions I have just found.
To: MI GSD thank you very much and your explanation was very clear. Arko is going to be a protection dog and I am proud to say he is doing very well. He started training a bit to late to begin to attempt to train him for any type of Schutzhund competition however I am currently getting another European GSD in attempt to start the training at 8 weeks if I can get him here that young. Arko has passed his advanced obedience and now is working on his bite work in the protection program. So Arko has his job in life and I am proud of what he has achieved so far. I am very devoted to training and now ready to go for some tittles with a new GSD in a couple of years or so. I am still doing my homework on finding a good line from Europe. I did a lot of homework with Arko and it I feel it pays off when you get into the training process.
Arko will be certified in Handler Protection and I would imagine there is a code for this I can place on the site. I am knew at this but recently sold my Granite business so I retired at 44 and now can move on with a dream I have always had. I am learning and I want to thank all of you fine folks for helping me with your replies.. Its very, very helpful to me.

Hello Rezcat 5:
They is very impressive achievements and I really appreciate explaining what the codes mean. I would be awful proud holding all those titles I would guess the training started at a very young age. Arko's family all hold Schutzhund Titles 1 2 & 3. He is from a very good line and I got him when he was 8 months old. I would have started the training at that age but being in a small town I couldn't find any I liked. The trainer I have now is I feel the best and has been working with the GSDs for 28 years... His GSD have won many titles and are amazing.
Again thank you for the valuable info...
Hello Animules:
I would also like to thank you. Yes Arko is a very happy dog and loves training. Like everyone here knows they are work dogs and need a purpose in life. He is also my best friend. GSD's are by far the best and I am certainly hooked on the training process. I am having so much fun and the best part is seeing the results. Tim is not a send away type training facility, I would never go that route its just not for me. Tim is a one on one trainer and I am involved in 100% of the process. Most of all I am doing it for Arko.
Thanks again everyone,
Talk soon as I will have more questions in the future.
Joe
