Feed it! Your dog will probably look perplexed at first. The first few RAW feedings are funny. My dogs are so used to kibble they don't quite know what to do with all that meat and bone. He will probably eat it carefully until he gets used to ripping it apart. Your dog will not choke. I feed RAW meat of all kinds to my dog daily. He just got done eating a roast that sat defrosted in my fridge a little too long.

I have been told in no uncertain terms from multiple people to NEVER feed chicken bones to a dog. Specifically because the poultry bones are so brittle. They can easily splinter and cause enormous damage. I feed my dogs raw chicken, just never from the bone. Unless I am resoundingly corrected on this board, please check with your vet before you do this. The information has come at me too many times from too many sources that I trust it as gospel. That said, many a chicken has been plucked from my trash and eaten by a stealthy GSD with no harm, but let me tell you I sweated the following 24 hours and now take chicken bones direct to the dumpster.

Feed bones and all. Uncooked bones are fine. It is after you have cooked them they become hard and brittle and will splinter.

ooked or frozen bones are the ones that will splinter. raw bones will not. when i was feeding raw i fed em whole. mostly chicken backs and necks or wings. i've been bad lately by not feeding the raw diet. my male always took his time with them. however my females it would literally be "munch..munch...munch.. gone!"
the other cuts make me nervous, but have known people that fed them. ie: thighs and legs. i used to buy necks and backs in 40 pound boxes. :)

I feed my dogs a few raw chicken necks or raw chicken wings as a treat about twice a week. have been doing so for over 20 years have never had a problem.NEVER EVER FEED COOKED BONES OF ANY TYPE.

I feed chicken 1/4's allot! They include rib, leg, thigh and backs. I have never had an issue with chicken bones either. It's the pork necks that scare me, they are so sharp they make holes in the bags when I freeze the meat. Even though they seem rather sharp, many people keep saying they feed them as well and I have not encountered a problem.

i've heard that too. when i get back to feeding raw, which i hope to soon. or at least a mixture of both, i will have to try that. :)
