Hi,
I would love to hear your comments on my 1 year old male DDR. "Rookie" Please critique his conformation for me. I would really like your honest opinions. How would he rate at a conformation show? I appreciate all replys. (good and bad)
He was 1 year the day his stacked pictures was taken. He is Prelimed Good. I have been doing Agility with him thus far and he LOVES it. He is such a happy, goofey boy. He does anything he can to make me laugh. (He also loves his photo taken).

I included his pedigree.
I would really love to hear from everyone, especially DDR breeders.
Thank you,
Kim Haegely

Gorgeous. I'll take three, please.
Seriously, I have a question about what makes a dog DDR. And I am NOT trying to stir up anything, just trying to understand. It is my understanding that DDR is east german and SZ is w. german? In that case does it go by the preponderance of the lineage? And if so, is this back to a certain gereration? Such as: Up to 7 gererations there is more DDR, which makes the dog DDR? Or does it have something to do with dogs being registered as DDR up until the wall came down and after that they were registered SZ?
Unfortunately, I'm too uninformed to even form the question in a coherent way. If anyone can decipher my question I would appreciate it.
Thanks,
Dawgs

The DDR lines were bred in East Germany during the cold war and some pure lines still exist. You have to do research on the pedigree as many are now mixed with other working lines such as czech etc. Some breeders actually advertise as 75% DDR etc.... Their may be a hard and fast rule about breeding before or after the wall came down but i would myself use the wall as a good benchmark if i wanted a 100% DDR line gsd. Hopefully someone else has better insight......
